As I have been showing homes along the Beltline this week, particularly in the Westview and West End neighborhoods, I noticed that deals on great homes within city limits are still out there. The question is, where are the buyers? Some of them are renting and possibly waiting for their lease to end before they can think about making a move. While others don't believe they can afford a home since their rent is already high and ever increasing. Here is something to consider: a 3 bedroom home in one of these Beltline neighborhoods, completely renovated with tons of modern upgrades will cost you upwards of $220K. This could potentially mean a monthly payment less than $1500 per month. On the contrary to rent a 2 bedroom apartment in the city with similar upgrades could cost you over $2000 monthly. It is a no-brainer why all renters should be speaking with an agent to find out if they qualify to purchase. Most renters are probably not even aware that as the housing market continues to do well, home prices will rise but so will their rental rates.
